Today is a red-letter day for Neil Gaiman fans - The Graveyard Book won the Newbery. My faith in award judges is renewed! What made this day especially fun for fans was the way Neil descrbed winning the award through Twitter and his blog.

This has to be the first time that fans have had such an immediate insight into an author's emotions and the way things change when he becomes a Newbery winner.
